Daniel P. Gualtieri

Chief Executive Officer

Dan began his career in finance in 1984 as the financial partner of Unisphere Pictures International; a NYC based Independent Film Production Company that produced its 1st and only G-rated feature film in 1985.  The experience was enlightening.  Creating collateral out of a script, celluloid, and temperamental talent was next to impossible. The Film “Starlight” was completed in 1986 and sold to an upstart network called the Disney Channel for very little. In between film projects, Dan moved onto to a steady job at a company called The Executive Management Group that brokered both residential and commercial loans.  Compared to the film industry, Dan found that financing real estate was very simple.

Soon he moved to the Commonwealth Mortgage Corporation of America, and then to a management position with The Equitable Bank Corp.  A six-year background in real estate and finance made the transition to residential lending effortless.

It was corporate bureaucracy, mediocrity, and middle management that drove him so crazy that he decided to create his own firm...

In 1988, Dan started a company called the Amagansett Funding Company.  He immediately began breaking all the rules about the way you think about a mortgage provider.  And in 1994, after Bank of the Hamptons was sold, Dan purchased the name of the old local mortgage provider.  "The Hamptons Mortgage Corporation had a wonderful reputation, much like "Bailey Savings and Loan," the mortgage company Jimmy Stewart owned in the movie, It's a Wonderful Life...  Both the name and the reputation fit who we are and what we are about.  It also helped us to improve upon our scope, and reach a larger population.”

Today, the Hamptons Mortgage Corp has won numerous sales achievement awards and has earned the respect of the nation’s top lending sources by brokering some of the largest residential mortgage transactions in US history.

The Hamptons Mortgage Corp still thinks of itself as a small company that takes pride in its personal relationships with each and every client.
